Happy 2025! I have to admit, 2024 was extremely weird for me with long periods of not getting work done due to personal reasons. So let's dive in on what I did, didn't do, and plan to do. This time of year is always my favorite, it's when I feel the most motivated to do the things I want to do. Let's hope I can hold onto that motivation for longer this time!
My goals are always up to changing, there is no guarantee that I will be able to do it. That's just life in general. But I plan to do my best. Keep reading for a deep dive of 2024 and the things to come in 2025!
Completed:
Holding the Tempo in the Needing Harmony series
Facing Conflict in the Monster Academy series
I only did two stories. This is far from my plan, I know and I apologize. But I will say, I feel extremely set up for 2025 because of this. It isn't because the other projects weren't started, it's because I simply couldn't finish it in time. We'll go over that further down. Still, I'm happy I was able to at least release one book each in my two current series. I'll take that for what 2024 was.
Incomplete:
Needing Harmony Book 5
Monster Academy Book 6
2 Jaye Ann Stories
Finish Discord exclusive story
Be better at social media
Good news, For a Song (Needing Harmony Book 5) is almost done! I have like 1/3 of the book left to write. The plot is fleshed out, so that should happen fairly quickly and I've been making it a goal to write a certain amount each day and it's been going well. I keep telling myself small goals to reach the bigger goal and it's been helping.
Just the other day, I fleshed out the plot for the sixth book in Monster Academy. So that is actively in the works.
For the Jaye Ann stories, I didn't release anything unfortunately. More on that in the goals. I do have a plan though! I promise.
For the Discord story, I need to find time to just focus on it. I think it's a fun idea I have, I just need to execute it somehow. I need to reconnect with the story and flesh out what my plan is for that one. Have to admit, I may have lost the plot on that one. I'll find it though, I promise.
And social media is...social media. I haven't quite found my rhythm there or the kind of content I like making outside of book announcements. I have some ideas, I'm just figuring out how to execute it so that I can post more content for people to enjoy.
Now for 2025 Goals:
Needing Harmony: I SWEAR this series is going to come to an end this year! That is my biggest focus for the first half of the year, to get the last two books written and on their way to being released. I plan for the first book to be released in the next few months. Once I'm in a comfortable spot, I'll release a preorder for it, and then the final book later in the year. I'm excited to wrap this series up and write Cadence's HEA. She deserves it, darnnit!
Also, the first three books in this series are now audiobooks! The wonderful Anna Maste narrated the books and did such an amazing production of the songs in the stories, so I highly suggest giving them a read (and leaving a review if you do, pretty please!) You can snag them on audible, Amazon, and iTunes.
Monster Academy: Again, two books! Not much else to say. This is planned to be a long series, so I need to just keep chugging along and remind myself to write the story I want to write. Slow and steady. Also, this series is now in Kindle Unlimited, so be sure to give it a read if you haven't yet! And share the series with your friends. It needs a bit more love.
Launch Jaye Ann series: When I attempted Amazon's Vella, I was able to finish a story on there. I'm planning to launch this series in 2025. The first book is actually already written, but I want to get further along in the series before I officially launch it, so I'm aiming to release the book in late 2025. All my Jaye Ann series are in Kindle Unlimited, and there are currently five books under that name. One completed series with four books, and a standalone. Be sure to check them out if you haven't yet!
Finish Discord exclusive story: I plan to finish the Discord story. I really want to finish it. Discord exclusive stories are posted in my Discord. Join if you're interested! Once the story is completed in Discord, revised, edited, and ready for publishing to the world, my Discord community gets the book for free!
Be better at social media: I'm terrible at it. Absolutely terrible. I know. So I'll be working harder to be more present on Facebook, Instagram, and in my Discord. I'm still staying away from TikTok - it isn't a platform I'm a fan of though I know it's great for the book community.
And that wraps up my review of 2024 and goals for 2025! What do you think? Anything you're looking forward to? Let me know!
